Motion Graphics Fundamentals 6 sessions, $600. Level: Beginner
Learn the basics of animated motion graphics through a series of in-class and homework exercises. Intended for artists with a good understanding of Photoshop and/or Illustrator. Knowledge of video editing helpful but not required. Bring your own laptop!

Google Fi Inspired. 4 sessions, $400. Level: Intermediate/Advanced
Create simple and elegant motion graphics that move in fun and interesting ways.
Design and animate a short film inspired by Oddfellows' Google Fi ads.
Software: Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere (optional)
Wednesdays 9/23-10/14, 6:30-8:30pm.
Motion Graphics Portfolio. 8 sessions, $800. Level: Intermediate/Advanced
Learn the hottest techniques for animating motion graphics–starting with the basics of using the graph editors, animating shape layers, creating cool transitions, scripts to kick up your workflow, file organization tips, write-on/paint-on techniques, working with bend deformers and the DUIK in a motion graphics way. Learn about easing in and out, controlling movement along curved motion paths, the principles of oscillation, ball-bounces, squash and stretch.
Software: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, and Flash. Cinema4D a plus, but not required.
Wednesdays 10/21-12/16, no class 11/25, 6:30-8:30pm.
Character Animation. 12 sessions, $1200. Level: Beginner through Advanced.
Projects: hand-drawn flipbook, pixillation (stop-motion people), a walk cycle in closeup and wide, and a short animated final film in your choice of technique. Intended for artists with at least a basic understanding of Photoshop and/or Illustrator. Knowledge of video editing or After Effects not required.

Mixed Media to Motion. 8 sessions, $800. Level: Beginner through Advanced.
Skills covered: Printmaking, drawing, Photoshop and After Effects.
Saturday mornings 10/10-12/5, 10am-12pm. No class 11/28.
1 hour additional lab time per week, $200 for the term or $30/week
AFX primer. 4 sessions, $400. Level: After Effects beginners and those wanting a "refresh"
Learn basic skills needed for creating moving paintings. After Effects introduction and Photoshop intermediate/advanced techniques.
Intended for those with a good grasp of Photoshop, wishing to learn basic After Effects skills in preparation for the Mixed Media to Motion course or as an introduction to using After Effects in artistic ways.
Topics covered: After Effects interface, importing and sequencing, working with effects (PS and AE), turning a still-image drawing into a "drawn on" movie, using masks, creating and animating high-contrast luma mattes, AE color keying.
Skills covered: Photoshop and After Effects.
